Mesonephric duct
The mesonephric duct, also known as the Wolffian duct, is an essential structure in fetal development that forms part of the male reproductive system. During early development, it acts as a channel that helps develop the testes and other male organs by guiding the formation of structures like the epididymis, vas deferens, and seminal vesicles. In males, it persists and matures into these parts, while in females, it generally shrinks and disappears. The mesonephric duct plays a crucial role in the proper formation of male reproductive anatomy.
