Merry Pranksters Bus (Furthur)

The Merry Pranksters’ bus, named Furthur, was a psychedelic-painted Volkswagen Type 2 van used in the 1960s by a group led by writer Ken Kesey. They traveled across the U.S. to promote peace, free expression, and or explore consciousness through LSD. The bus, covered in vibrant colors and artwork, became a symbol of the counterculture movement. It played a key role in the famous 1964 "Acid Test" parties and helped spread the ideals of experimentation and societal change associated with the hippie era. Furthur remains an iconic representation of 1960s alternative culture and youthful rebellion.
