Merrick Garland (Justice)

Merrick Garland is an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, having been confirmed in March 2021. Before joining the Supreme Court, he served as the Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and as a U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. Garland is known for his judicial experience, moderate approach, and focus on issues like civil rights and criminal justice. He was nominated by President Joe Biden after a lengthy political battle over his previous nomination to the Supreme Court in 2016, which did not reach a vote.
