
Merrick Garland
Merrick Garland is an American lawyer and judge, currently serving as the Attorney General of the United States, a position he assumed in March 2021. Before this role, he was a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Garland is known for his legal expertise and a moderate, bipartisan approach. He gained national attention in 2016 when then-President Barack Obama nominated him to the Supreme Court, but Senate Republicans did not hold a vote on his nomination. As Attorney General, he oversees the Justice Department and its efforts to uphold the law and ensure justice.
