Merotic Script

Meroitic Script is an ancient writing system used in the Kingdom of Meroƫ, located in what is now Sudan, from around 300 BCE to 400 CE. It comprises two scripts: hieroglyphic, used primarily for monumental inscriptions, and cursive, used for writing on papyrus. Meroitic was employed for religious texts and royal documents, reflecting the culture and governance of the Meroitic civilization. Although the script was deciphered to some extent, much of its content remains poorly understood, highlighting the mystery of this ancient Sudanese society.
