Meroe Pyramids

The Meroƫ Pyramids are ancient Egyptian-style tombs located in Sudan, built by the Kingdom of Kush around 800 BCE to 350 CE. They served as royal burial sites for Kushite kings and queens. Unlike the pointed pyramids of Egypt, Meroƫ pyramids are smaller, narrower, and have steeper sides, often with flat tops. Set amidst a desert landscape, they reflect the unique architectural and cultural identity of Kushite rulers. These pyramids are significant archaeological treasures, shedding light on a powerful kingdom that thrived for centuries and influenced regional history.
