Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune
The planets are large celestial bodies orbiting the Sun. Mercury is closest and smallest, with a rocky surface. Venus is similar in size but dense, with thick clouds and extreme temperatures. Earth, our home, has water, life, and a protective atmosphere. Mars is a cold, rocky planet with evidence of past water. Jupiter is the largest, a gas giant with a giant storm and many moons. Saturn is famous for its extensive ring system and also a gas giant. Uranus and Neptune are icy giants with thick atmospheres, colder temperatures, and numerous moons. Together, these planets form our solar system.
