Mentoring competencies
Mentoring competencies refer to the skills and qualities that enable someone to effectively guide, support, and develop another person’s abilities and confidence. These include active listening, providing constructive feedback, fostering trust, understanding individual needs, and offering encouragement. A good mentor recognizes their mentee’s strengths and challenges, helps set goals, and shares knowledge and experience to promote growth. Essentially, these competencies ensure the mentoring relationship is positive, meaningful, and results-oriented, helping the mentee succeed both personally and professionally.
