Menshevik Party

The Menshevik Party was a faction of the Russian socialist movement in the early 20th century that split from the Bolsheviks. While both aimed to establish socialism, Mensheviks supported a more gradual, democratic approach to revolution and believed in working within existing political structures. They favored broad, inclusive membership and were less centralized. During the Russian Revolution, they opposed the Bolsheviks’ quick, revolutionary tactics, which ultimately led to their decline as the Bolsheviks seized power in 1917. The Mensheviks represented a more moderate socialist perspective, advocating for reform and parliamentary development rather than immediate radical change.
