Mengele, Josef

Josef Mengele was a German doctor who became infamous for his role as a Nazi SS officer during World War II. He conducted inhumane medical experiments at Auschwitz concentration camp, particularly on prisoners, including children and twins. Known as the "Angel of Death," he selected prisoners for extermination or experimentation. His actions are widely condemned as unethical and represents one of the darkest chapters in medical history. After the war, Mengele fled Europe to avoid justice and lived in South America until his death in 1979.
