Mendelism

Mendelism is the study of how traits are inherited from parents to their offspring, based on the work of Gregor Mendel. He discovered that traits are controlled by discrete units called genes, which come in pairs. During reproduction, each parent passes one gene for each trait to their child, and these genes can be dominant or recessive. The combination of genes determines the child's traits. Mendel's principles explain patterns of inheritance and how traits can skip generations or appear in specific ratios, forming the foundation for modern genetics.
