MEN2A

MEN2A (Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia type 2A) is a genetic condition where individuals have an increased risk of developing tumors in endocrine glands, particularly the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. Most notably, it often causes medullary thyroid cancer, which may require surgery, and can lead to overproduction of hormones like adrenaline and parathyroid hormone, affecting blood pressure and calcium levels. MEN2A is inherited, so family members may also carry the gene. Early detection and management through regular screening are essential to prevent complications and improve outcomes.
