Memex
The Memex was an early conceptual computer device proposed by Vannevar Bush in 1945. It envisioned a personal storage system that could house all of a person's books, records, and communications, and enable easy, rapid retrieval and cross-referencing of information. Essentially, it was a precursor to the modern hypertext and the internet, aiming to augment human memory and knowledge management through interconnected data. Although it was never built, the Memex inspired future innovations in information technology and the development of tools like the web.
