Meidum

Meidum is an ancient Egyptian pyramid located near Dahshur, built during the 3rd Dynasty around 2600 BCE. It was initially constructed as a step pyramid but later partially filled in to form a true pyramid shape. The structure was originally much taller but now appears as a crumbling, pyramid-shaped ruins due to its incomplete construction and natural deterioration. It is significant for showcasing early pyramid-building techniques and represents an important transition in Egyptian pyramid architecture. Although not as well-preserved as later pyramids, Meidum provides valuable insights into the evolution of monumental tomb construction in ancient Egypt.
