Mehmed Talaat

Mehmed Talaat, also known as Talaat Pasha, was a prominent Ottoman Empire politician and one of the key leaders of the Committee of Union and Progress. He served as the Minister of the Interior and was instrumental in shaping Ottoman policies during World War I. Talaat is historically known for his role in orchestrating the Armenian Genocide, the systematic extermination of Armenians within the empire between 1915-1917. His leadership and decisions have made him a controversial figure, condemned for his responsibility in these atrocities. After the war, he was assassinated in 1921, partially motivated by his wartime actions.
