Megapixel
A megapixel refers to one million individual pixels, the tiny dots that make up a digital image. When a camera's sensor has more megapixels, it can capture more detail, producing sharper and clearer images, especially when enlarged or printed. For example, a 12-megapixel camera records approximately 12 million pixels, allowing for detailed photos suitable for large prints or cropping without loss of quality. However, higher megapixels alone don't guarantee better photos; lens quality, sensor size, and processing also play crucial roles in overall image quality.
