MeerKAT

MeerKAT is a large radio telescope in South Africa that collects radio waves from space, helping scientists study celestial objects like galaxies, black holes, and the universe’s origins. It consists of 64 connected antennas that work together as a single, highly sensitive instrument, allowing for detailed observations of distant cosmic phenomena. By capturing faint signals from the universe, MeerKAT provides valuable data that enhances our understanding of cosmic processes and the universe’s history. It also serves as a precursor to the Square Kilometre Array (SKA), a future international effort to build the world's largest radio telescope.
