Medicare Managed Care

Medicare Managed Care, also called Medicare Advantage, is an alternative to traditional Medicare offered by private insurance companies. It combines Part A (hospital coverage), Part B (medical services), and often Part D (prescriptions) into a single plan. These plans may include additional benefits like vision or dental coverage and often have networks of doctors and hospitals you must use. They are regulated by Medicare to ensure quality and coverage standards. Enrollees typically pay a monthly premium and co-pays, and they receive all their Medicare benefits through the plan instead of the government directly.
