Mediation Research

Mediation research studies how and why a certain factor influences an outcome by examining the intermediate processes involved. It identifies the "middle step" through which an initial cause affects a result, helping us understand the underlying mechanisms. For example, if a new teaching method improves student performance, mediation research might explore if increased student motivation or better study habits are the reasons behind this improvement. This approach helps clarify how effects happen, allowing for better targeting of interventions and meaningful insights into cause-and-effect relationships.
