MEDIATION (Mediation techniques)
Mediation is a process where a neutral third party helps two or more parties in a dispute communicate better and work towards a mutual agreement. The mediator facilitates discussions, identifies issues, and explores options but doesn’t make decisions. It’s a voluntary, collaborative process aimed at resolving conflicts efficiently and respectfully, often saving time and costs compared to litigation. Techniques include active listening, asking open-ended questions, reframing statements, and guiding parties toward common ground. Mediation encourages understanding and cooperation, helping parties find solutions that work for everyone involved.
