Mediation Act

The Mediation Act is a legal framework that promotes and regulates the process of mediation—an alternative way to resolve disputes outside of court. It encourages parties to work with a neutral mediator who facilitates communication and negotiation to reach a mutually acceptable agreement. The Act sets out rules ensuring the confidentiality, voluntariness, and fairness of mediation, making the process efficient, flexible, and less adversarial. Its goal is to help parties settle disputes amicably, save time and costs, and maintain better relationships by fostering cooperative problem-solving.
