Medialization Laryngoplasty

Medialization laryngoplasty is a surgical procedure used to improve voice quality when the vocal cords do not close properly, causing a weak or breathy voice. During the surgery, a small implant or tissue is placed to push the affected vocal cord toward the middle of the voice box (larynx), allowing it to meet the other cord more effectively. This helps produce a stronger, clearer voice and reduces aspiration risk. The procedure is often performed under local or general anesthesia and is a common solution for vocal cord paralysis or weakness.
