Medial Epicondyle
The medial epicondyle is a bony bump on the inner side of the lower end of the upper arm bone (humerus). It serves as an attachment point for muscles and ligaments that control movements of the wrist and fingers. This area is important for gripping and wrist movements. Because it’s close to nerves and blood vessels, injuries here, like fractures or strains, can cause pain, swelling, or weakness in the forearm and hand. The medial epicondyle also plays a role in certain conditions like golfer's elbow, which results from overuse of the affected muscles.
