Mechanical Advantage Formula
Mechanical advantage is a way to measure how much a machine amplifies the input force to make work easier. The formula is: \[ \text{Mechanical Advantage} = \frac{\text{Output Force}}{\text{Input Force}} \] This tells you how many times the machine increases force. For example, if you exert 10 pounds of force and the machine produces 50 pounds of force on the load, the mechanical advantage is 5. A higher value indicates a more efficient machine at reducing the effort needed to move or lift objects.
