Measure 91 campaign
Measure 91 was a ballot initiative in Oregon that, if passed, legalized the recreational use and regulation of marijuana for adults over 21. The campaign aimed to establish a legal framework for growing, purchasing, and possessing limited amounts of marijuana, similar to alcohol laws. It sought to redirect law enforcement resources away from marijuana enforcement, generate tax revenue for public programs, and establish licensing rules for growers and dispensaries. Ultimately, Measure 91 passed in 2014, making Oregon one of the states to legalize recreational cannabis and regulate its market.
