Measles Transmission

Measles is a highly contagious viral infection that spreads easily from person to person. It transmits through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The virus can also linger in the air or on surfaces for up to two hours after an infected person has left the area. People who are not vaccinated or have never had measles are at the highest risk of infection. Symptoms typically appear 10 to 14 days after exposure and include a high fever, cough, runny nose, and a distinctive rash, making early detection and vaccination crucial for prevention.
