Mean

The mean, often called the average, is a way to find the typical value in a set of numbers. To calculate it, you add up all the numbers together and then divide that total by how many numbers there are. For example, if you have five test scores, adding them up and dividing by five gives you the average score. The mean helps summarize a group of data with a single number, providing a sense of the overall level or central tendency within the data set.
