Meadow's Law

Meadow's Law states that medical treatment or clinical tests often seem to become less effective over time, not because the treatments are truly losing their efficacy, but due to factors like patient expectations, natural disease progression, or placebo effects. Essentially, as a patient undergoes ongoing therapy, improvements may plateau or decline, which can be mistaken for failure of the treatment itself. Recognizing this helps healthcare providers differentiate between true treatment failure and natural fluctuations, emphasizing the importance of carefully evaluating patient responses and avoiding premature adjustments or discontinuation of effective therapies.
