McNair's law

McNair’s Law states that as a company or organization grows larger, its management tends to become more bureaucratic, which can slow down decision-making and reduce flexibility. Essentially, the more layers of management and rules added to control growth, the more cumbersome and less responsive the organization may become. This often leads to decreased innovation and agility, making it harder to adapt to change quickly. In simple terms, expanding an organization can unintentionally hinder its ability to operate efficiently, highlighting the importance of balancing growth with organizational flexibility.
