McGurks Bar bombing
The McGurk's Bar bombing was a terrorist attack in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on December 4, 1971. A bomb placed in a pub by the Irish National Liberation Army exploded, killing 15 civilians and injuring dozens. Initially, authorities falsely blamed the Irish Loyalist group, but later investigations revealed the IRA was responsible. The attack heightened tensions during the Troubles, a period of conflict in Northern Ireland. It remains a tragic reminder of the violence that affected many communities during that time.
