Mazandarani language

Mazandarani, also known as Tabari, is a Northwestern Iranian language spoken by the Mazandarani people along Iran’s Caspian Sea coast. It has its own unique vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation, distinct from Persian (Farsi). As part of the Iranian language family, Mazandarani preserves ancient linguistic features and is used in daily life, cultural practices, and local media in the region. Although many speakers also speak Persian, Mazandarani remains an important symbol of regional identity and cultural heritage, with efforts underway to preserve and promote its use amid modern influences.
