May 1916 Rising

The Easter Rising of May 1916 was an armed conflict in Ireland where a group of nationalists, seeking independence from Britain, staged an uprising against British rule. They occupied key locations in Dublin and declared an Irish Republic. The rebellion was launched on Easter Monday, but it was quickly suppressed within a week, leading to several deaths. Although it was militarily unsuccessful, the Rising galvanized public support for Irish independence and significantly influenced subsequent efforts to establish an independent Irish state.
