Max Brod
Max Brod was a Czech-born Jewish writer, composer, and political activist best known as the close friend and literary executor of Franz Kafka. Despite Kafka's wishes to have his unpublished works destroyed, Brod famously defied him by publishing much of Kafka’s writing, ensuring his literary legacy. Brod also authored novels, essays, and memoirs, and was involved in cultural and intellectual circles in early 20th-century Europe. His actions significantly shaped Kafka’s posthumous reputation, making Brod a key figure in 20th-century literature and Jewish cultural history.
