Mawdudi (Abul A'la Maududi)
Abul A'la Maududi (1903-1979) was an influential Islamic thinker, philosopher, and political leader from India. He founded the Jamaat-e-Islami party in 1941, promoting the idea of an Islamic state governed by Islamic law. Maududi emphasized the integration of religion and politics, arguing that Islam provides a comprehensive system for all aspects of life. His writings on Islam's principles, governance, and social justice have inspired many in the Islamic revival movement. Maududi's ideas continue to shape contemporary Islamic thought and discussions around the role of religion in modern society.
