Matsudaira clan
The Matsudaira clan was a prominent Japanese family originally from Mikawa Province, playing a significant role in Japan's history. They rose to power during the Sengoku period (15th-17th centuries) and eventually became the ruling family of the Tokugawa shogunate, Japan's last feudal military government. The clan’s most famous member is Tokugawa Ieyasu, who unified Japan and established the Tokugawa shogunate in 1603. Known for their military skill and political influence, the Matsudaira family helped shape Japan’s transition from feudal chaos to a unified, stable society under the Tokugawa.
