Mathematical ratios
Mathematical ratios compare two quantities by showing how many times one value fits into another. Expressed as "a to b" or using a colon (a:b), a ratio indicates the relationship between them, regardless of size. For example, if you have 4 apples and 2 oranges, the ratio of apples to oranges is 4:2, which simplifies to 2:1, meaning you have twice as many apples as oranges. Ratios are useful for understanding proportions, scaling recipes, or analyzing relationships between different quantities. They provide a clear way to compare and analyze data effectively.
