Master Morality
Master morality is a philosophical concept introduced by Friedrich Nietzsche, describing a way of valuing life that arises from strength, vitality, and self-assertion. It emphasizes qualities like confidence, independence, and the creation of one’s own values, rather than conforming to societal norms or external moral standards. In this view, the "master" creates their own sense of good and bad based on personal power and excellence, celebrating life-affirming qualities. It contrasts with "slave morality," which values humility and submission, often rooted in resentment. Master morality encourages individuals to define their own worth through their actions and inner strength.
