Master Boot Record

The Master Boot Record (MBR) is a small, critical part of a storage device like a hard drive or SSD that helps a computer start up. It contains essential information about the drive’s partitions (sections) and a program called the bootloader, which loads the operating system into memory when you turn on the computer. Think of it as a navigation map combined with a startup instruction manual stored at the beginning of the drive, guiding the computer to find and launch the operating system necessary for use.
