Mass Energy Conversion
Mass-energy conversion is the process where mass (matter) transforms into energy, as described by Einstein’s famous equation E=mc². This means that a small amount of mass can be converted into a large amount of energy due to the speed of light squared being a very large number. This occurs in nuclear reactions, such as in the sun or nuclear power plants, where atoms release energy by changing their mass, providing a powerful source of energy from matter. Essentially, mass and energy are interchangeable, with mass being a concentrated form of energy.
