Mary Stuart

Mary Stuart, also known as Mary, Queen of Scots, was born in 1542 and became queen when she was just six days old. A significant figure in Scottish and English history, she was a cousin of Queen Elizabeth I of England. Mary’s reign was marked by political turmoil, her Catholic faith, and her tumultuous marriages. Fleeing to England after being forced from her throne, she was imprisoned for 19 years before being executed in 1587. Her life and struggles symbolize the conflict between Catholicism and Protestantism in Britain during the 16th century, influencing the course of history in both Scotland and England.
