Mary A. Livermore

Mary A. Livermore (1824–1905) was a prominent American reformer, educator, and women's rights advocate. She worked tirelessly to promote education, disease prevention, and social equality, especially focusing on improving conditions for women and African Americans. During the Civil War, she organized aid efforts for soldiers and worked with the U.S. Sanitary Commission to improve healthcare. A talented speaker and writer, Livermore also co-founded the Women's Rights Convention and supported women's suffrage. Her lifelong dedication to social justice and equality made her a significant figure in American history and the women's rights movement.
