Mark Takano

Mark Takano is a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 39th district. He’s a member of the Democratic Party and has served in Congress since 2013. Takano is known for advocating for education, veterans’ rights, and issues affecting his diverse community. Before Congress, he was a high school teacher and a Riverside County supervisor. As the first openly gay person of Asian descent in Congress, he also promotes equality and inclusion. His work focuses on diverse social issues, aiming to improve economic opportunities and support for vulnerable populations in his district and beyond.
