Marjolin's Ulcer

Marjolin’s ulcer is a type of skin cancer that develops in areas of previously injured, scarred, or chronically inflamed skin, often after burns, scars, or other wounds. It usually appears years later as an ulcer, sore, or lump that doesn't heal properly. Although it is rare, it can be aggressive and may spread if not treated. Early diagnosis and removal of the lesion can improve outcomes. Regular monitoring of scarred skin for any changes is important, especially if the area becomes painful, enlarges, or develops an unusual appearance.
