Maria Theresa of Austria

Maria Theresa of Austria (1717–1780) was a significant European ruler and the only female Habsburg monarch. She served as Archduchess of Austria and Queen of Hungary and Bohemia, playing a crucial role in strengthening her empire through reforms in education, administration, and military. During her reign, she faced numerous wars and political challenges, including conflict with Prussia. Her leadership laid the groundwork for the future modernization of the Habsburg Empire. She was also the mother of Marie Antoinette and a key figure in European diplomacy of the 18th century.
