Margraviate of Moravia
The Margraviate of Moravia was a historic border region in Central Europe, roughly corresponding to today's Czech Republic's eastern part. Established in the 11th century, it served as a frontier territory within the Holy Roman Empire, governed by a margrave who had military and administrative authority. Moravia was important for its strategic location and rich agricultural land. Over time, it developed its own cultural identity and functioned as a semi-autonomous political entity until it was fully integrated into the Habsburg Monarchy in the 17th century. Today, Moravia is recognized as part of the Czech Republic, with a distinct regional identity.
