Marcion

Marcion was an early Christian thinker from the second century who believed that the God of the Old Testament was different from the forgiving God of Jesus in the New Testament. He argued that the Old Testament God was harsh and justice-driven, while Jesus represented a new, loving divine. Marcion created a version of the Christian Bible that included only parts he considered authentic—mainly the Gospel of Luke and some of Paul's letters—rejecting other writings. His ideas sparked debates about which texts truly reflected Christian beliefs and helped shape the development of the Christian canon.
