Marc Rich (Commodities Trader)

Marc Rich was a prominent commodities trader and businessman, best known for founding Marc Rich & Co., a leading global commodities trading company. Born in 1934 in Antwerp, Belgium, he gained fame in the 1970s for his innovative trading strategies, particularly in oil and metals. Rich was also controversial due to his dealings with countries that were otherwise sanctioned, leading to his indictment for tax evasion in the United States in 1983. He later fled to Switzerland, where he lived until receiving a controversial presidential pardon from Bill Clinton in 2001. Rich passed away in 2013.
