Marbling patterns

Marbling refers to the streaks and flecks of fat dispersed within muscle tissue of meat, especially beef. These fat lines create a marbled appearance, similar to marble stone. The amount and distribution of marbling influence the meat's tenderness, juiciness, and flavor—more marbling generally means a richer, more flavorful bite. Quality grades like USDA Choice or Prime are often based on the degree of marbling. Proper marbling is desirable because it melts during cooking, enhancing the meat's texture and taste without overpowering it.
