Maori circle process
The Māori circle process, known as "whakawātea" or "whakawātea wānanga," is a traditional method of group dialogue rooted in Māori culture. It encourages open, respectful sharing of thoughts and feelings in a circular setting, symbolizing equality and unity. Participants speak one at a time, listening carefully, which fosters understanding, consensus, and healing. This process emphasizes tikanga (customs), collective wellbeing, and the importance of listening deeply to different perspectives to resolve issues and strengthen community bonds.
