The Manson Family was a cult led by Charles Manson in the late 1960s. Comprising mostly young followers, they believed Manson's teachings and followed his instructions. In 1969, they committed a series of brutal murders, including the actress Sharon Tate. Manson was convicted of conspiracy to commit murders and sentenced to life in prison, where he remained until his death in 2017.
